Leaking power top cyl 92 sl

I am wondering if anyone has run across multiple leaking hydraulic top cyl; I realize they fail as a normal seal blowout, but I have replaced 6 of them in the past year. As soon as I get one replaced, another one starts. None on the windshield though. Now I have discovered the two big ones down inside the rear wells are squirting. These are very expensive! Is it possible someone inadvertently filled the pump reservoir with something like brake fluid which could destroy the seals? The fluid has now been mostly replaced as a matter of the course of service so whatever contamination is probable gone. I always use MB fluid but these leaks are a problem as large amounts of fluid leaks out wherever the car is parked. What eats these seals? They don't just leak-they squirt! There are probably about a dozen of these on the car. Ihave been told that the top is very reliable but maybe not...

Multiple Cylinder Leaks

Do a search of this forum. I have read from members that once one goes, you can expect the rest to follow. Reason??. My '92 500 SL with 160K miles has not leaked. I know only MB fluids have been used. Maybe that is the key.
