I used to go to Burlingame Motors, in, you guessed it, Burlingame. Talk to Rene. They are very knowlegable and were always good to me. Prices, as with all things in the bay area, are high. I seem to recall $85/hr a couple of years ago. I stopped going because it was always such a trek to get up there and I found a closer place, though not as good.
I was always excited to go there because they were usually restoring a really interesting car or two. They had an original 300sl (not a gullwing) there for a while. Burlingame Motors 1295 Rollins Road Burlingame (650) 343-8858 David |

Try Sal's ******** near San Jose Ave. if you are in San Francisco
I only used them once but they are ok, reasonable. Find a good shop, unfortunately there is no shortage off high priced, ripoff, incompetent. Check the "Good SHOPS" archive here for shops in California, that might help. Having Lived in SF ten years with one, I would say good luck, you will need it. Just my opinion. Hope you get luckier than me.
