low fuel light
I have the same issue on my 1983 380sl. One day I let the tank get low. The light came on and has never gone off. Fuel gage works fine. I guess some thing must be stuck just do not know what or how to fix it. I interested in any information on the topic. Chris

The following is not helpful, but I never see this light except when starting the car. The reason is, that I am not young and am afraid of having a heart attack caused by a 23-gallon fill up.

I looked up the schematic, and there actually is a separate switch in the fuel level sensor (in the tank), which is probably stuck. It can be removed and possibly unstuck, certainly replaced. Replacement procedure is mentioned on the 107 CD, I can summarize it if needed.

Have either of you tried pulling the fuse for the dash, waiting 30 seconds and reinstalling it? Or, unhook the battery for a similar time period and then seeing if it resets? I don't know if that will work but if it hasn't been tried it seems easy to do and worthwhile.
