A/C question

All,

I have just replaced the AC compressor and the dryer on my 1986 560 SL. The nut on the high pressure line going to the dryer is split. Do I need to replace the entire line, which involves removing the steeering wheel and instrutment cluster, or does anyone know of another solution?
