I made the mistake of backing out the set screw too far on a sunvisor and now I can get it to rethread. What's the trick? This is the set screw at the left end of the visor (driver's side) that holds the visor in a vertical position. I have fixed the visor's ball/arm droop with a piece of leather at explained in one the posts. here. I also replaced both male and female clips but the visor won't stay up against the roof. When replacing the clips I loosened the set screw to pull the visor out on the visor rod to insert the male clip, but I unscrewed the set screw too far and now I can't get it back in. I assume the visor has an internal clamp somewhat like a hose clamp that the screw engages to tighten. I can't get the screw to catch the back side of the "clamp." I hope somebody has a tip to get that screw to tighten. For now I have the visor held up with a bundgy cord. It's not pretty. And, hopefully, I won't have to replace the visor.
