A/C disconnect?
 

My A/C does not function (I'm not sure why) anyway, as I mainly drive the car with the top down, I feel I do not need it.
Question; should I unattach the drive belt from the compressor? after all, it's not doing anything, or is it?

You will get various opinions on that...mine being one of them. Sure, take the belt off, it won't hurt. My system was going to cost too much to fix, and with only two months of MAYBE needing AC up here in Ontario, I proceeded to remove the whole system.

I may do the same thing with my SL- I never use it anyways. Did you remove all the system? Any drawbacks?

No reason to remove the belt, it just freewheels if the compressor clutch is disengaged.

Well, it looks like it doesn't matter either way, personally I think I will leave the system in tact on the motor, I guess it's possibly someday, the next lucky owner may want to get it fired up and running. :) Thanks to all who responded.
