1983 380 SL How much freon?

I need to have the AC system on my 1983 380 SL recharged. My neighbor is licensed to handle R-12 but needs to know how much the system holds. Can anyone out there help?

Many thanks,

Geoffrey

There should be a red label on the right side (from the driver's seat) of the radiator support which lists the charge, on the top side.

Per my Technical Data Passenger Cars, Edition April 1985, the R12 filling capacity for the 107 with Delco (frigidaire) 6-cylinder, swash plate compressor A6 is 1.0 kg. That is 2.2 lbs or 35.27 oz.
