Changing A/C Compressor Clutch

Hi,

Can someone here please tell me how to change the clutch on my a/c compressor of my 1980 450 SL.
I rented a clutch puller, but I cannot find any info on this subject, in any book that I have looked in, or on a google search.
I need a guide before I start so I can do an R&R.

I just did it on my kids Mustang and I bet it's similar. Pull the nut and the outer section comes off, there was a big snap ring holding the pully/bearing on and then you can use the puller, another snap ring held the magnet on. Good luck.

Hi,

There is no room to pull the clutch off while mounted.
If I have to remove the radiator & shroud I might as well get a new compressor.
