What's the best color for an SL?

Personally I'm a sucker for originality, but I can appreciate your predicament in the Texas sun... As long as the material is original spec (Sonnenland, I think), I'd go for a mid-shade. I say that because (1) the lightest colour may go grubby really quickly and (2) the mid colour will offer some contrast with your paint job.

What colour are your seats?

Originally the interior was leather saffron+java. Someone recovered the seats with some kind of tan outside and dark brown in the middle vinyl. I know, I know, it looks hideous. I plan on restoring the seats to original someday.
I'll look for the other colour tops, I agree about the contrast.
BTW sorry about calling your car brown. What is that colour?

I like red and black with chrome too but this is my car in paint code 199, blauschwartz. It is german for Blue Black. It looks like a green/black metallic but there is no metal in it. AMG painted all the chrome trim to the body color. It is sort of unique but I have seen a 560 locally.

Have any of you ever seen these iridescent paint jobs on cars? They appear to change color as your angle of view changes. It's somewhat fascinating, although I doubt I would ever want to have a car painted that way. It has to be expensive.

Anybody seen an SL or any MB painted this way?
