broken chain sliders 73 450 slc

Hi
Just wanted to share a couple of pictures of the effects of a couple of broken chain sliders. The broken pieces got caught in the chain and caused the cam to jump 2 teeth causing all of the exhaust valves to hit the pistons on the driver side bank (USA model). This happened after only 110K miles, remember age plays a big role. Hope this reminds everyone to change the slides, a few hours work and about $10 for the parts (yes even from the dealer). I had just done it on my 450 sl so if anyone want a picture of the puller I made feel free to email me.
cheers
Barri

Sad thing is that engine would have come with the relatively unbreakable rubber backed metal slides, someone must have replaced them with the crap plastic ones that then broke...had they left the originals in there all of that damage would have been avoided.
