Big Red Plug for Air Bag
 

I have a 1987 560 SL and was hoping someone could tell me if the big red plug for the airbag is under the passenger side carpet (as in the 192) or is it the red plug on the emergency brake bracket near the left kick panel?

On the 1989, it is behind a large removeable plastic panel under the passenger (right side) floor mat against the firewall. There are four plastic nuts that must be unscrewed and the panel pulls out by pulling the bottom out first. There are other electronics behind the panel too.
