Nightmare Dealership

Has anyone got any horror stories about evil dealerships!!?? I recently picked up my 450sl from one here in Indiana, while at the shop it mysteriously and suddenly started having all sorts of "problems" with items I didn't even ask them to look into. My AC was working when I took it there, now they claim its no good! Suddenly there is a "grinding" noise coming from the gearbox, and it NEVER did this before. Not only that but one of the panels on the interior is completely CAVED IN!! Like someone punctured it or something. I brought it to there attention and they just said, "it was like that when I brought it in." To top it all off, it took them 2 months to fix 1 minor problem! I seriously feel like reporting them to the better business bureau. For a brief moment, I even considered calling up my lawyer.

I AM NEVER DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS MERCEDES DEALERSHIP EVER AGAIN!!!!!! I won't say their name but they are located near Shipshawana, IN.

Look into the "GOOD SHOPS" tab at the top of this web page for info from other members on finding good service. The MB dealer I have in Milwaukee is very good, but also very expensive. I've found a local independent that specializes in German cars and has treated me well and serviced my Sl properly at resonable cost. If all MB dealer service centers were as bad as your experience, they'd be out of business simply by word of mouth. I believe that most pride themselves on be reputable.

I want to make a note of this - am I to stay away from just this dealership or all of Indiana?

Yeah, I guess I'll have to call AAA and get another TripTik for my upcoming trip. And to think, I almost drove through Indiana!
