When all else fails, read the instructions
I had no heat. I read all the various posts that "search" brings up and I quaked in my shoes at tackling the problem. I took a novel approach and read the service manual. Darndest thing. I found the problem and it's easy to fix. I also learned there were three different heating/cooling systems and it is key to identify which is yours. The old cars like my 73 have an idiot simple system - two acuators and a valve that sits on the firewall. My valve is dead, but I was able to push the little control arm and open up the hot water. Darn thing works and the part looks easy to replace. Phew! Moral of the story - read the instructions.
