Drivetrain Shaking

I put the "Beast" in neutral last night while I was waiting for my wife to get in the car and the drivetrain began to shake and make noise, it does not do this when I put the car in park or in gear (forward or reverse). I was wondering if anyone has had this problem before or might have some suggestins? I was thinking either the trans mount or the flex discs. Hope someone can give me some clues.

Sound like a mount, but you didn't really describe the noise, which would make it easier to pinpoint. ie Different thing make different noises. Elaborate a bit and someone could probably confirm. Also, block the wheels, drop it in nuetral, and look for your noise. put hand pressure on different areas of your driveshaft/mounts and deduct what your problem is.

Matt,

Thanks for the advice. The noise is a bit of a knock, mid to rear of the car. As the drive shaft isn't turning this has been a quandry. I've had the motor mounts looked at and was told they are fine, but I have a feeling this might be the rear mount (trans).

Also consider the possibility of an exhaust system hanger allowing too much movement and check the heat shields over the cats.
