450SLC (107 series) vacuum line tester WANTED

Help please!!
I am looking for a vacuum line tester. This is a tool connected to the lines and components to see if they are leaking air. Does anyone know the part number or where I could purchase such a thing? How much they are, etc.
How are other folks checking for these problems. Any home made solutions?
Any help or ideas appreciated.

Also looking for a workshop information system - net (WIS-net) Mercedes Benz CD set for repair and maintainence of MB's.

Thanks and regards

Gerard

Gerard,

You don't indicate where you live, ergo this suggestion might be moot. Head to your nearest AutoZone or Pepboys, etc and buy yourself a vacuum pump (Brake Bleeder). You can get a nice brass one for about 50$ USD.

Cheers!

MityVac is another common tester brand for this type of work.

Thankyou. Are there any other suggestions / types or home made ideas out there? Gerard.

You have the world at your finger tips. Do a search on MityVac and buy one. I'm sure you can have one shipped to you. Try ebay first.

No home made device will work to your satisfaction, and since you own an SLC with 4 or 5 different vacuum systems, in will pay for itself many times over in terms of diagnostic testing.

What he said. I paid about $50 CAD for one. Well worth it.
