Where is the best place to buy visor clips. The sites I have found are about $50 a pair. Jim 79 450SL

I just got a pair from Frank a couple months back. $25/pair, just tell him, or Elaine which color you need. He also puts great instructions in the pack on removing/replacing the clips. 15 minutes to stable visors!

Replying to an old thread, but maybe this will be of help to someone:

I searched ebay and found various sunvisor clips for sale. Some had exhorbitant shipping costs. I ended up ordering complete set for both sides (male & female) from Josephina Custom Tops. $20.00 for complete set plus $5.00 postage to Canada!

They had limited colors but did have one called Henna which is a darkish brown - matches my Mahogany interior well.

To remove rods, as posted elsewhere, you need to remove the screw, then rotate the rod so that the ball is in line with the visor. It will be tight but it can then be pulled out by twisting back & forth a little. There is a small flat that wont go by the clamp unless it is properly oriented.

On my car, the thin end of the rod where the clip goes on has a keyway. The original clips had a key molded in so that they would only go on one way. The new clips did not have that key. They were also VERY tight. I had to put them in hot water to get them to slide over the rod.

The clips are close but not exactly the same as the originals, so it is best to change male & female parts at same time.

I took my visors off to do this job. To do this you need to remove the covers at the top of the windshield - To do this, you need to remove the mirror and it's base, the female visor clip socket and one screw near the outside end of the cover. The cover will likely be stuck to the windshield sealant but will come away with slight force. Getting the mirror off is not obvious - It has a spring loaded mechanism and just pulls off. - But the spring is strong! I found I had to use a flat screwdriver to pry it off. To replace it, I engaged one side then pushed on spring mechanism on other side while pushing hard on mirror - it clicks back into place.

Tightened up the clamp on the end fittings and visor now stay where they are told!
