As I remember having removed mine a while back you must remove the mirror first by taking hold of the mirror assy. and pulling straight down, it takes a healthy pull to un snap it but when removed you will have access to remove the light panal. As for refinishing it I carefully wipe the housing down with some laquer thinner, use it spairingly and I found that Dupli-color spray makes a great plastic or vinyl dye which really works great if you can find the right color. This stuff is sold at Pep Boys, Good luck...

Must be something about the plastics for that year, mine was messed up too.
So are the similiar pieces on the visors.

I replaced the center piece with a wood one, performance products I believe.

Cheap NO, but it solved it nicely

Talking wow

THANKS! What a find this forum is. I followed the link on "how to remove the light .." Perfect, picture worth 1000 words. Poped it off. Thinner did not "cut" it , soapy water and steel wool did the trick very nice. Looks brand new but unpainted. I could not find paint yet to match ( 1990 ) but now that I have it off, I can match by eye.
THANKS!!
