sl 500 1995

Hello Folks,i Own A Sl 500 Yr.1995,and The Power Top Stop Working,is Stuck In The Close Position ,thank God,
My Question Is : Can I Manually Lover The Top,like It Used To Be With The Solid Sunroof,they Used To Have A Tool Near The Motor In The Trunk Area ??

You can lower it, but not like you used to with a sunroof by cranking it. There are little eylets behind the sunvisor, remove the plastic bit and behind you will see allen bolts, you use your wrench from your tool kit to turn those to unlock them, then in the trunk near the rear locks you will find the big hydraulic locks, on those you will see a bit to accept the other side of the wrench, pop those locks open. After you have the rear portion open you unlock the cover, it is between the vinyl cover the the roll bar, you will see another bolt like bit to accept the non-allen portion of the wrench, unlock that and the top folds in, and then be sure to re-lock the cover. This is a lot of work, you might want to find out what is wrong with the hydraulics and fix it. Good luck!
