My latest info, 107 gang feel free to comment

OK the book for average is $10,500,described as a looker at 20 feet, this car would meet that . 6000, low retail and described as needing a lot of work
My gut also tells me it is priced a bit high but I have not really negotiated the price yet
This is a fine specimen, and compared to my 220 project , well there is no comparison…
things I have found so far
Odometer is not working, nor is trip odometer, so I am not sure of real miles
small rust bubbles on rear deck lid, and surface rust on door foot rails, no other rust anywhere.
Electrical issues – interior lights, dash lights do not operate
Seats , both drivers and passengers bottom cushions need redone.
Paint – perfect
Engine – starts runs fine, seems a little “dirty” on acceleration but this car has had little use for 4 years
Tires – new
My main issue is that I have no service history, I have contacted the owner to see if he can provide
Windows – slow to go up and down rear passengers does not go all the way down
AC , heat – no problems
Minor rear window delamination
So it goes, more to follow, keep the thoughts coming

I had a 1979 350 SLC long time ago from 1995-1998. As I bought it in Germany the car was just 16 years old and I paid only $7K (at dollar rate then).
$10K for a 34 year old 450 SLC is way too much IMO. Other issue to consider is whether you need/want a 4-seater or not. I bought my car then because we had kids but I always eyeballed and envied other W107 two-seater SL.

The SL are sleeker, smaller, lighter, more aerodynamic and for $10K one can get 1982-1985 ones with no problems.
I would do a search on ebay for W107 SL and SLC to get an idea about the price.
Anyway I would not pay that much, the condition is not that great as you described.
