malfunctioning alarm system

My 91' 300sl has started sounding the alarm (horn and lights) without reason, which has not endeared me with my neighbors. How do I disarm the alarm system permanently? Thought the unit was under the passengers side floorboard. I disconnected two black pins to what I thought was the unit - it wasn't. Called a MB mechanic I use at home and he said the unit was located under the hood. I looked where he said and couldn't find it ( said it would be labeled Becker). Can anyone help or offer any suggestions? Thanks so much.
Ron

The alarm module is in the trunk and is mounted above the battery (picture).
