Cabin Air Filter Access
On an 03 SL500 how do you access the cabin filters? I removed 3 screws from a panel just underneath the glove box and tried to pull the panel down. It wouldn't budge and I didn't want to force anything. Am I missing something?
I'm also confused on filters, seems there are filters and then there are activated charcoal filters. Is this correct? Any part numbers to tell the difference on these filters? Thanks in advance, the forum has been very informative for this newbie. |

I've never removed the panel below the glove box. The directions say to remove the screws and pull the cover out toward the rear...I'm not sure, but in this case I would suppose "rear" would be toward the front of the car. The R230 has no charcoal filters. It has a pair of "combination" filters that are together under the passenger dash. They are under a pair of covers that you will see when you remove the panel below the glove box.
