Can't move shifter

Hi all,
New 2 forum,I've got a 2003 SL500.Car was fine,then Sunday got in and started it,could'nt shift from park.You can feel the solinoid click in shifter when you press on brake pedal,still won't shift. Unhooked both batteries and retryed.still won't shift.Any help would be great.Thanx Tom

Sounds like the shifter has gone south.. unfortunately that is a common problem.

I don't see why it would not be covered by warranty. The shifter needs to be removed and either repaired or replaced. I don't think an M-B service shop would bother to try to repair it, but I would.
