380sl no start

Looking for a little help here. I have an 85 380sl roadster with the v-8 engine. When the car sits overnight it will not start in the morning. Outside temp 65. It will crank over fine and when the key is cycled you can hear the fuel pump running. But it will not start. If I come back to the car after work and try to start it the engine fires right up. Outside temp in the 80's. Full tank of fuel, good spark and plenty of air. Why will it not start in the morning. Has anyone else had this same problem?
