SL500 ('98) after the battery was replaced

Guys, Any ideas on how to fix the following. After the battery was replaced I now have issues where the seat adjustment controls only operate if the car door is opened and the radio doesn't synch with the ignition (ie the radio control is only via the on/off switch on the radio itself not controllled by the ignition switch). The radio issue will leave me with another flat battery if I don't get it resolved. I also had a problem with the soft top not automatically opening. This was resolved thankfully by following the manual procedure outlined in the owners manual. Any suggestiuons on the above would be greatly appreciated - Thanks Steve

To me, the radio issue (assuming you have a standard MB radio/headunit) could be normal, depending on how you discovered the situation. For example, on both my SL's, the radio can be turned on and off, at any time without the key in the ignition, simply by pressing the volume knob. This is normal. Is this how you discovered the 'problem'? If so, try pressing the volume control to turn off the radio, start the engine, turn on the radio, turn off the engine, remove the key from the ignition. At this point, the radio should turn off with the ignition. If it does not, then the radio is the problem. To my knowledge, there are no signals external to the radio that would 'force' it to stay on.
