91 500sl power

so I have a 1991 500sl, but the dash does not work nor does the top work or the seats. but the radio, and lights all work. A fiew weeks ago my friend tapped the back of my car as a joke kinda hard, all of a suddden the dash and the top works again. Now it wont work again, there is no voltage going to the fusebox in the trunk. Is there any junction boxes for power in/by the bumper? anyone know what could be up with it?

thanks,

jake

I believe that power to the aux fuse block goes through a power relay. Not sure which one and I don't have a diagram at hand. Tap around the relays under the hood on the left rear side of the engine compartment ( under the cover). Sometimes just reseating the relays may help. Someone with a diagram or ALLDATA will need to help out here.

If all of the dead circuits are switched by the ignition switch, then the switch is surely bad.

well, im thinking its a problem with the wiring because once my friend tapped my car, it started to work again, and i left the headlights on accident and the battery died. I charged the battery again and now the problem is back again. The car is still drivable i just dont know how safe it is.

Check the OVP fuses. OVP is under the panel in the engine compartement, against the firewall, passenger side. Do a search in this forum for "OVP". I'm sure somebodt has posted a picture of one.
