Rear brake discs....Standard or vented?

I'm replacing my rear discs...have the choice between vented vs. standard. Vented looks a bit thicker thus would be harder to get the brakes back on? Can anyone attest to the worthiness of paying the premium for vented? Perhaps more suitable for front discs, not rears?

Thanks in advance!

If you are not racing, or doing lots of long braking down steep slopes, you probably will not see any benefit to using vented discs. The rear pads use shims. You might have dificulty in getting the new pads and shims over a thicker disk...maybe not. I would recommend a good quality original type disk. Rear disc warpage is rare on these cars if the disc meets minimum thickness.

Considering that the rear brakes account for 30% of the cars braking system I would say it's not worth it. Unless of course you plan on going downhill. All the time.
