380 SL Soft Top Leak with New Top
Hi, just bought a 84 380 sl with a new top and noticed that there are two good sized gaps above both door glass sections which allow a lot of noise and of course, water at some point when the wet weather hits again in Northern California. Is there a definitive thread on this site for adjusting soft top correctly ti avoid excessive noise and leaks? Thanks!

First, there should be a seal on the frame of the soft top that acts as a seal around the window. Second, there should be a seal glued to the soft top itself, sealing it to the portion of the frame on top of the window. Maybe the top installer didn't finish the job? |

Providing that you have the seals. The height of the windows can be adjusted.

Thanks, I believe that I am missing the seals that are glued to the top itself, will check a schematic, thanks!

I just bought an AllDataDIY subscription for the 107, and I was looking at this very topic. There is a service bulletin from MB about adjusting the windows.
What I learned: - there are lots of adjustments. - the basic starting point for correct window height is to have the front edge aligned with the top of the triangular seal on the door. - the window is always adjusted to fit perfectly with the soft top, and then the hard top seals are adjusted or shimmed.
