"I Gotta Vent!!!"

I own a 1994 SL320 with 100,000+ miles on it. Occasionally my ABS/ASR light come on and I have learned to live with it. However......
Yesterday, I was exiting a parking lot, crossing two lanes of westbound traffic and entering two lanes of eastbound traffic. I saw an opening, hit the gas and darted into the westbound traffic. As I entered the roadway my car went into the LIMP MODE. I was nearly side-punched by a westbound 4X4. I limped across the road into the eastbound lanes. I was given a hardy welcome by the eastbound drivers with a display of fingers (depicting their age and IQs), the sound of horns and screeching tires. I nearly caused a chain reaction acccident. I pulled over to the side of the road shut off and restarted my car. The ABS/ASR and LM (!) at the top of the speedometer went out and I drove home. The pavement was dry, no loose stones and the tires did not break loose or spin. Looks like it's time for another trip to the dealer$$$.

Thanks for listening - I needed to tell someone.

...and yesterday, coincidentally, at a dozen or more dinner tables, the conversations went something like this-

"So there we were, a bunch of commuters driving down a 4 lane highway at about 40 mph, when all of a sudden, this knucklehead driving one of those fancy Mercedes pulls out of a parking lot, tries to cut accross the lanes we were in to make a turn into the far lanes with oncoming traffic there too...and does it at a crawl like he owns the road! We all had to slam on our brakes and swerve out of the way to keep from hitting this moron..."

Funny thing about perspective-even the thinnest sheet of paper has two sides to it.

Bob

That's great, Bob. I love that!

I try to think about things from the other guy's perspective when I am in "the heat of the moment." Sometimes I actually pull it off.

And one thing I always look at when someone makes a really dumb move,,,, the license plates. If they are from out of state, I just back off and shut up.
