What does this trim clip look like?

Does anyone have a clue (or better yet a pic) of what this trim clip is supposed to look like? The first pic below shows what's left of the original.

I'm replacing a front fender and addressing a couple "issues" while I'm at it.

Any info is appreciated.

actually the ends of the trim strip have a small screw that connects the trim around the lip of the fender, I have many clips lying about, i will check to see what else may work in that area

Ron,

Thank you for the offer. I've attached a pic of the clip after removal. I'm guessing the butt end of the bolt has a square or rectangular piece that fits into the channel of the chrome rocker trim piece. If you have one of these I'd be very appreciative if I could purchase from you.

FWIW, I cleaned all the oxidation away and found that it was all superficial....Phew. After getting down to bare metal I coated with two applications of POR 15. Amazing stuff and now well protected.

Thanks again.

Rick, I have every kind of clip except the one you need
I have the plastic do dads, red ones, clear ones and everything in between but it seems like the one you need is prone to rust and they do not live on in the parts boxes
You may try this ( I did it on my 220)
Fabricate or retrofit and existing clip that you can screw in and then "slide the trim piece on.
My buddy has a 80's 450SL parts car,if I get by there I will look, but may be the same deal there.

Ron Thanks for checking. I'll bet your right regards these clips being prone to rusting. I should be able to fabricate a replacement out of stainless.

Thanks again!
