Blinker issue

My 84 380sl is giving me some problems, my blinkers are not blinking. When trying to use the turn signals left or right the lights seem to stick, i turned on the hazard lights and even those where not blinking. I changed out the fuse but nothing, can some one tell me where i can find the blinker relay? Could one bad turn signal bulb make the other stick??? Thank guys

I think your relay is in the hazard switch. They can fail either way.

From a review of other posts throughout the forums this is what I see.

Some models have the blinker relay built into the hazard switch. Others have a relay between the fuse box and firewall...and others beneath/behind the instrument cluster (or possibly under the center console).

I just went out to my '85 380SL and can here a distinct clicking from behind the steering wheel/under the instrument cluster. When you locate the courtesy lamp in the footwell it appears the relay is above that light and behind the removable (carpeted) knee pad and plastic bellow vent line.

BTW, when the hazard switch and relay are combined some have engaged/disengaged the switch several times to get it working again.

Blinker Issue

I know that, in other types of vehicles, one bad bulb will keep that partiular side from blinking. The indicator on the dash will usually light up but it won't blink.

It sounds more like a relay to me.

I have a spare hazard switch for a 107 if it turns out you need one.
