129 Grille components
I can confirm that metal rails which make up our radiator grilles are available separately. They are called Baffle Plates on the MB electronic parts catalogue. I have just collected a single piece from the dealer. The cost was GBP35 plus tax, about $80 all in. They had to be supplied by Germany. Mine appears to have been manufactured in June 2007, so there should be plenty of stock. This is much cheaper than replacing the whole grille!

This is true they are available seperatly. I also sold a used 129 grill to someone and I took two of his baffels that were in better shape than mine and had to do some rigourous cleaning and polishing to get them to match. I dont know if the situation would be better or worse with new baffels, but when we first looked at the situation it appeared that the 98 SL500 of his was a different coler than the 96 SL600 gill I sold him. With the parts all cleaned and pollished you couldent tell the difference and he was happy.
