Steering wheel replacement 1988 560sl
 

Would love to replace the steering wheel on my 88 560sl with a smaller diameter wheel. Does anybody know of any wheels that would be a direct bolt on so I don't have to mess with the air bag? Open to either MB or aftermarket wheels. Have been concidering possibilty of cutting and welding 2 wheels together to retain the original airbag but getting a smaller diameter wheel.

The wheel from a 126 is slightly, but noticeably smaller, drop-in, although I can't speak for the airbag. I put one in my 85 380SL; the plastic wheel it came with was pretty junky (I don't care about originality). The bad thing is that depending on how tall you are it will obscure the tops of some of the instruments.
