91 sl driver seat problem

having a problem with the front to back seat movement. Motor is running fine, outer screw turns, inner screw turns a couple times then seems to bind. Nothing appears to be stuck under seat. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

What do you mean "exactly" by outer screw and innner screw? Do you have the seat cushion out? Can you take a picture of the parts and post it? There is so much stuff under those seats ( modules and things ) that anything is possible.

'boy, I think he is talking about the drive mechanisms.

The problem is surely a broken gear on the screw. One option is to remove the affected screw and have the seat driven by just one screw. That should be okay if you help the seat move when making adjustments.

A new mechanism lists for $404. I have a used one available to sell for...$220!

It's #203 in the attached diagram. It is easy to change and intuitive. You'll need a torx T-40 socket.
