w107 id tag
Can anyone shed some light on whether or not the interior colour is always stamped onto the ID tage on the radiator support?
I was trying to replace the sun visors in my car, but want to get to right colour. I'm not sure if the colour is a cream or cream biege. It a 1982 500sl Euro and the Russian club site decoded my VIN but gave me an interior code of 035 which it said was unknown. 035 dosn't appear anywhere on the id tag it just has 877 G twice which was the original colour of the exterior paint a petrol blue green. Maybe the interior has been changed? The id tag reads as follows. 270 6285 10 7046 22 72 70 1 00097 440 102757 M 592 877 G 603 8 877 G 320 The chassis number is WDB10704622001941 Can anyone make sence of this? Regards Damian |
I'd go the top on this one - contact the Mercedes Classic Center in Irvine and explain it to them. They'll get you answers quick.

yup , just send them your VIN via email and in a day or so you will get everything your car had on it and the colors as it came off the line.
It is pretty cool. I found out my 107 was originally tobbacco brown with a blue rag top -WOW - not sure about that combination, but in the 70's perhaps it was the rage. I like mine now with its pearl white and palaminio interior. |
Ether of you two nice gents wouldn't happen to have there email would you?
Regards Damian P.s. Pearl white and Palamino sounds nice any pics? |
