R129 Power Window INOP
My '95 SL500 Drivers window won't go down, and top won't release. I'm sure it must be a fuse; but where the heck is it? I've checked all the fuses in the trunk and in the engine compartment. The engine compartment fuse cover locator sheet does not mention anything about power windows, so I assume it must be in the trunk, but they all look good; and the cover is missing so I don't have a locator diagram for the trunk fuses.
My DVD drive is dead so I can't read my DVD based service manual..... Can anyone tell me where to look for the fuse?? |

The fuses for the windows are indeed in the trunk; sounds like you found them. There are seperate fuses for each window. Fuse 1 (top ) is left window, fuse 2 is right. Consider also the possibility that the switch is bad or that the motor has stalled, possibly due to dried grease on the regulator mech.
There are relays on the top controller which actually close the window circuit. ( On 90 thru 94 models, not sure about yours as they changed a bit ). The controller is under the right rear storage compartment. If you look in there, you should be able to hear the relay click, indicating a good switch. There are two identical relays. You can swap them to test.
