91 300 Sl

hi everyone , Im new here and I have a major problem. My alarm keeps going off! It goes off when I use the remote or without it, when i open both doors and even sometimes when im driving. It's very embarassing. Some people think im stealing the car..... . Pleas help me. Ive tried the search on this forum but its not exactly for this model. If there is anyway to just disconnect the alarm, or just the alarm horn, I will be happy. Thanks , in advance.

I don't know if this will work, but you can try disconnecting the alarm module. In the truck, behind the battery cover, near the fuel inlet. I'm not certain of all the functions intergrated into the alarm, as I've not had a problem with mine, so far. Let us know.

SL alarm

Do you happen to be having problems with the central locking system vacuum pump? Mine went bad and the door locks wouldn't stay unlocked or locked completely and would set off the alarm while driving. You could also have a bad vacuum line also causing the same problem, of course the vacuum pump would run continuously. The pump is located just above the battery in the trunk.

In the picture provided by teqboy, the arrow is pointing to the plug on the end of the module. My alarm started going off for no reason and unplugging the module disabled the alarm without affecting the door locks or anything else.

Just unplug the connector and tuck it aside making sure that nothing can accidentally touch the pins and cause a short. My mechanic pulled it off for me while I watched. I don't recall any latches, or tricks to pulling the connector off the module.
