smaller 450 sl steering wheel

Hi,

Have 75 Benz 450SL and would like to reduce the 17" steering wheel to 14, 15, or 16". Is there a "bolt on" Mercedes wheel that can be swapped?

Or other suggestions.

Also want to purchase Petronix Ignitor electronic ignition to replace points. Need to know where to purchase them.

Thanks all,

Joe R.

small wheel

Hi Joe

My 88 107 300SL has a 14" MOMO wheel - it was fitted by the previous owner ( although I still have the original in case I ever sell the car )

it's great to drive and easier to get in and out but it can be difficult to see the speedo.

Have a look at mine

I have a 14" Nardi Classico wooden steering wheel in my 300D. It is a bit small for a 300D but it'd be perfect for a R107. Definitely go for a smaller wheel, you will be delighted on how much tighter the steering will feel!

Hi Joe
I have a 14 inch nardi wooden wheel on mine. I can send a phot if you like. its great but obscures the top of the speedometer so I can only see the Km part not the mph part. Doesnt worry me but could irritate some
cheers
Len

I'll second the nardi classico; put it on my 85 500sl last spring and looks great. Here's a similar one in a porsche.
