Anyone know how to defete this
 

I have a 96 S-320 & 97 SL-320 both have the flat/straight six engine. There is a delay(something to do with smog??)in shifting at first start up. Can this be defeted?? I know if you disconnect the abs it will shift immediately, but would rather find another way. Any help??

I believe it is to let the engine warm up for emissions,,,, just let it alone. Not a big deal. All of our cars do the same thing.
