Here are some better photos of that tool to show that it is still a good usable tool. I am open to offers if someone would like to buy it. If not it most likely will end up on Ebay after the Christmas holidays.

It's the tool required to adjust the valve clearance on 230SL cars and 220 Sb models. It's available from Samstag Sales. My 280SL requires a similar tool, but 17 mm. It is also available from Hazet. If you want, I can post pics.

Samstag was the first place I looked. I did not find it there. Arthur Dalton posted a pic with a good description of what it is used for. I also have one of the 17mm tools you are speaking of. The 17mm is still in production at Samstag I believe it was $104 new and one of the posts had a link to Ebay where one sold for around $59.

Go to <http://www.sl113.org/forums/ >and place a For Sale ad there. Someone with a 230SL is going to buy it. I used to have a 230SL when they were new and bought such a tool to adjust the valves. Sold the car and later sold the tool. With the 14 mm hex it was easy to round the corners of the adjuster. That's why MB went to 17mm.

Thanks for the information!
