Smile 1996 SL500 engine if anyone needs it cheap.

I'm selling my old engine, about 115k miles on it. It starts and runs perfectly, but has low oil compression. Here is the ebay listing. PM me if you want to make a private offer.

Uh,,, Doc. Is this the same engine you have been having all the issues with ? If so,,,, "perfect running" does not seem to be exactly true.

Yes it's the same engine that had the stalling, we found it was the fuel pressure regulators and replaced them, and it ran fine. We had the noise up top from the lifters not getting oil and then we looked at the bottom end and decided it was a clearance issue from the bearings.

Just to be clear I am not selling this engine as a drop in replacement, I am selling it as a rebuild project for someone. It does in fact idle and run very smoothly and has strong compression, but I certainly hope that doesn't give anyone hope they can just drop this engine in and go, certainly not. But for the 4-5k I see engines in this mileage range go, I thought it would be a cheap alternative for someone not afraid to tackle the rebuild.

Does this mean that you installed a replacement engine in your '96 SL500?

Yes I installed a new engine, well its not here yet. And I meant low oil pressure, most likely main/rod bearings.
