Wondering w107 soft top rubbers

Just received brand new soft top for my 450SL and started wondering parts that came with the top (two rubber "sheet" 22inches x 1-2inches, looking like window seals).

But while removing my old top couldn't figure out where should these pieces of rubber be placed. Can anyone tell me what these are and where to use?

The "seal" on top of the top:

Which company supplied/manufactured it, or is it from the Mercedes dealer? I will be ordering one in the spring. I saw one on EBay that came with 2 'seals' but no info on where they go.

those 2 strips seal the fabric top to the steel brace across the top of either side window. they glue onto the fabric. looking at your picture the fat end glues onto the fabric roof just where your thumb is and then along to the back of the window opening. the same on the other side.

also where the little "wing" is at the front there should be a screw that holds a wire that goes through a sleeve in the fabric to the back of the window area and then ties onto a short arm on the top frame so that as you put the roof up and tension it the short arm moves back and pulls the top down onto the top of the brace across the window thus sealing the fabric to the window brace with the rubber strip.

if you email me your picture I will draw where the bits go onto your picture

cheers

So, would these 'seals' be part no 9 in the diagram? I checked my top, and there were rubber strips running along the tops of the windows, between the canvas and the channel holding the window seal (part no 10 I believe).

(Diagram courtesy World Upholstery)
Would no 18 be canvas strips, and do these normally come with the top?

They go the same place as #9, but they're wider than what that diagram shows. They should be about 2.5" wide.

No, they're webbing similar to the seatbelt material, and they're not included with the tops from WU. I didn't replace mine, but I wish I had. The old ones didn't look bad until they were set against a brand new soft top. Then they looked like crap. You can buy new at just about any fabric shop. There's also two small pieces of elastic material on top of them, and that will probably need to be replaced. You can also pick that up at a fabric shop.
