Question on my 450 - rear view mirrors

Ok my 71 has only one, and always wished I had two. On the parts car in a box ( this is an 81) are two mirrors, they do not look alike see photos , are these original to the 81 or mispalced from another MB series
the first pic is my current mirror, the next two the ones I had whished to use, what gives?

Early 450's have the smaller mirrors w/o rubber and later ones have larger rubber-surrounded mirrors. A lot of early cars didn't come with RH mirrors. The early mirrors are even more expensive than later ones (except for the motorized units).

Later mirrors probably (not sure) won't fit correctly.

Somewhere in 85, I think, the mirrors became like the later 560's - so there are fundamentally three "forms" of mirrors.

Perf. Products lists them for about $380/side and they are probably OEM, you might be able to better here at Fastlane (no doubt, he gets the parts wholesale) or at a MB dealership, especially if you are a member of MBCA.

My $0.02, you might be able to find them used but you will probably be disappointed with their condition as compared to the description by the seller. The RH side will be especially difficult to find (lots of cars didn't have them and if you are looking for one, so are others); you will need the triangle with the hole to replace your blanking plate triangle inside the door.

I have never failed to be disappointed with chrome parts that I bought sight unseen. Rechroming, if you can even take the assembly apart to be chromed, will probably cost more than an entire new part.

I'm getting all the spare parts I can afford because these parts will probably never be cheaper than they are right now.

won't be going that route! too much $$ I may fool with the ones I got, I looked at some later models and I like the look, just have to decide if I want to vary from "original"
