Value of a 1980 280sl that doesn't run
Hey ya'll,
I unfortunately need to sell my 280sl as i am moving out of the country. I don't know what to ask for it, as it is currently not running. It has 217,000 miles on it, the body is in good condition, it has hard and soft tops. Any ideas?? Thanks for all your help

OK for us to have any idea, we will need a lot more information. Condition of body, (any rust dents, missing parts?).....condition of interior....leather, tex or cloth?....rips, cleanliness, conditoin of carpet headliner and dash. ... jump seats?
and finally why is it not running? There is a big difference between having a rod hanging out the side of the motor and a dead battery or bad fuel. Tires....type and condition. Tom W

Being a 280sl gives it some value, as it is a Euro car.
Not running negates it value. I agree w/the photo recommendation.

Another diffentiator is the transmission. Is it automatic or standard. If standard, is it a 4-speed or a 5-speed.
If it is not running because it needs a motor, I have two setup for std trannys (both euro spec) sitting in WV. -CTH
