R-129 Spongee brake pedal

1991 500 SL brake pedal is low on first pump, much better on second pump I have flushed the system with the proper tools and also bled the system as a backup but still have the problem. Pads are new as are the brake hoses, replaced with stainless in the hopes of mabey helping the problem but to no avail. The brakes do stop very well, but are low......Any thoughts???????

Does the pedal slowly sink when you are at a stop in gear? This is the classic symptom of a master cylinder going bad. The fluid bleeds past worn out seals on the plunger.

Yes I have a few.
1. Bleed again pay attention to the reservoir this time, it has two compartments very easy to empty one while looking at the other and this way you are putting air back in to the system.
2. The calipers are old pitted, seals are puling the pistons back in, so when braking you have to take up the slack/ on the second try around you don't.
3. Master cylinder, is on the way out.
Regards.
aam.
