560SL driver's side underdash panel
I want to remove the driver's side under dash panel to access the screws for the speaker. I've removed two plastic fasteners, but there still seems to be something holding it in place at the top. Are there other fasteners up there or is it glued? Before applying more muscle and breaking something, I wanted to be sure I didn't miss something.
Thanks.

You should not need to remove this part to get at the speakers. It should just be two tiny screws at the bottom of the grills. Then just lift the bottom and slide down. To install place a sheet of plastic (cardboard will probably work) behind the cross bar and engage the gill hook to guide the hooks in place.

John - thanks for the reply. I can see the two screws for the speaker, but don't have any tools to get up in there to get at them without removing that panel as far as I can tell. Maybe someone put some kind of aftermarket panel on mine. It's carpeted the same as the interior and is just too big and bulky to allow me to get at those screws.

This is how to remove that tin can stuffed with styrofoam: Now this is just plain dumb! 560SL knee bolster
The 2 screws for the speaker cover are under a vinyl sticky-strip on the drivers side. It's possible to get them out if you pull the strip back, but easier if the knee bolster is removed...
