sl 107 speedometer
i have a 280sl 107 5 speed. my speedometer occasionally stops working as well as trip odometer and regular odometer. i had it serviced once and they didn't find anything wrong. now it just went out again.

Steve, I just sent mine to West LA Automotive Center for repair. Their price is a flat $125 for fix if nothing really strange is encountered.
('81 380 SL)

If it occasionally stops and then starts working again, I'd be more inclined to replace the speedometer cable than to have the head unit rebuilt! If your cable is binding internally, it can stop and then re-start. Much less costly than rebuilding the head!

Steve, I did not understand that your 280 had a cable. My '81 has an inductive pickup for the speedometer. It is all electronic as far as I know.
