request, exact measurements of SL hood

hi,

could someone could take a tape measure and get the width and length of an SL hood for me I would appreciate it. I would like to get the width at the front and rear edge and the length from the center back to the grill insert edge. To the 1/32 or 1mm accuracy would be appreciated. If there is a link to a measured drawing that would be even better.

Thanx

Now just which exact SL do you have in mind ? I don't think all SL's have the same hood.

call me crazy, but I saw an SEL style hood for a w123 and it got me thinking. The one I saw was fiberglass but I wondered if I could make a steel version out of an SL hood. I just want to see how close it is to a w123 hood. I think it looks pretty good on a w123. link

Been there done that. My 78 450sl "smallbock/700r conversion" is very impresive. It still looks stock, but the exhaust "note" turns heads! I would "truley" like the chance to "ride" in your 70 Mustang! That body style and that engine! My old buddy had a 70 Mach-1 with a 351 Cleveland. We would spend hours "installing upgrades" and polishing before a cruise. I really loved that car! I sold my 1970 Vette coupe , small block 4 speed (I restored over 13 years) to get a car that looked good, that had a trunk. But if I had a chance to cruise in a "big Block" 70 Mustang or a "LS1 62 Vette", I think it's time to stop building "high horsepower" golf car's and ................Buy a "KIA", Seems no one cares about creating a uniqe automobile now. Wish you good luck on you adventure. Dave
