fueling problems 300 sl 24

I need some help on a 300sl-24 how do i go about setting the fuel distrubutor back to factory setting.when I press the acc.pedal full in the car dies then starts to rev up. Some times when this happens there is is a back fireon the inlet manifold On idle the car is very rich and when I turn it lean the car drives pooly and dies on pull away and holds back on top end PLs help you can contact me on e-mail garethb@mtnloaded.co.za
