80 500slc gauges
All, I recently purchased an 80 500slc that I have been slowly waking up. One of the problems that I have identified is that the left gauge cluster (temp, fuel and oil pressure) does not work. The vacuum driven economy meter does however.
I'm not sure where the problem. Fuse number 10 appears to be the fuse for the instrument cluster which looked good. I replaced it for good measure but that did not help. Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated.

I might be wrong but I don't think 1980 models had an economy meter, definitely not on the 450SL/SLC series anyway. Also the US 1980 models had the 85mph speedometer required by law. Is your car a US model? Perhaps the gauge cluster was swapped out with a later year one, very common occurrence on these cars.

Hey there, this is a 500SLC, they were made after the revamp and have the more modern steering wheel and seats.
I think it would be closer in 'mod cons' to the 380SLC then it is to the 450SLC.
