M110.986 vacuum diagram?

I have the manual on CD's but cannot find the engine vacuum diagram. Does someone have these?

Actually, I put .986 as the engine id in the title but I'm not sure if it's even a .986 since the I6 in this 280SL is a replacement by the PO. I need to check the casting.

Your best bet is to get the engine manual for the M110 available in print from MB. It covers all the M110 engines.
The Chilton's (or Haynes...I don't recall) for the 280 sedan also has some good info especially if you have the manual trani.

I saw that Haynes makes a book for the '78-'81 US 280. I went shooting through my other Haynes manuals for various other cars/trucks and didn't see any vacuum diagrams in them so I'll assume the same for the 280 and save my cash to buy an engine manual. Problem is that they are out of print. Also, the MB technical lit link isn't working (http://www.classictechlit.mbusa.com/MB/). Anybody have a copy I can bum and/or buy?

TMC Publications sells copies of all MBz paper manuals. What year is your vehicle?

I meant to place that in my initial message. I have a 1985 280SL.

FYI, I have seen a MB engine manual which covers the M110 past '81 (280 was discontinued in US after '81). I think I saw it on the MB website, in fact. However, TMC only has the US M110 engine manual listed. They're probably close enough (other than emissions controls). Unfortunately, with vacuum diagrams, emissions controls can mean a lot when it comes to differences in vacuum line routing.

How much emissions stuff do you have on your '85? I have an '83 and the manual has been fine.

Well, I'm talking out of my butt at the moment. I think my point is that the vacuum system on a US 280 would be different because of its emissions components that were not present on the RoW versions. But until I get my hands on a manual I'm just guessing.

That said, I've found someone who has the 110 engine manual and I'll be borrowing it today. I'll post back when I have some insight.

Well, good luck. It really depends on who did the federalization of your car. It could be great or an abortion like mine was. The only thing I left remaining was the charcoal cannister.
